A largest garment manufacturer
PBRX is currently considered as the largest garment manufacturer with total sales of USD338 mn in 2014. The Company focus on marketing their products on export market including USA, Europe and Australia. Having long experience in the industry, the Company has several competitive strength; (i) serving global brand’s demand for large quantity yet high quality orders, (ii) strong capabilities for manufacturing complex garment items, (iii) strong networks and good relationships with textile suppliers and (iv) integrated business model. Furthermore, the Company continues taking corporate action which make it on track to its vision to be integrated and global apparel supplier. We expect PBRX to experience robust growth in the years to come, citing its both organic and anorganic investment strategy. Having strong capacity
As of 2014, PBRX has the production capacity of 75 mn pieces polo shirt/year, a significant increase from 24.6 mn in 2010. It was due to additional new plant that already commence in Central Java. The Company is targeting to build seven new plants in the region by 2016, which four of them has been built. Also, installed sewing machines including subsidiaries totaled 22,186 units in 2014. This year, PBRX has allocated about USD30 mn for building new plant and engine maintenance the existing plants. The fund will be sourced from right issue III. We expect the additional capacity would impact to both production and revenue increase by 20%. Besides, the Company is currently conducting production trials with the Vietnamese firm through a collaboration operation, which enables the Company to manufacture some of its products in the neighboring country and ease export activities to USA and Europe.
Growing revenue in 1Q15 During 1Q15, PBRX posted 18% YoY of revenue increase to USD76 mn on the back of soaring export sales particularly from Asia market. We view the Company’s growth outperformed its peers which was 11% YoY. Export sales to US and Europe plunged by 17% and 39%, respectively. While local sales soared by 57%, however, the contribution was still small. On the profitability side, gross and operating profit grew by 25% YoY and 49% YoY compared to 1Q14. We view PBRX has business cycle which will meet its peak in 2nd and 3rd quarter. Business Prospects We have an upbeat outlook on domestic garment manufacturer, citing growing
demand in both domestic and export market. Solid economic growth and rising purchasing power make Indonesia – the world’s fourth most populated country – an attractive market for textiles and clothing. Besides, garment and textile export continues to increase albeit slowing global economy. Textile and related products is targeted to earn USD36 bn by 2019, three-fold increase from current value of USD12 bn. The government also support the industry by giving subsidy to rejuvenate their sewing machines due to its important role to Indonesian economy. Taking above into consideration, we believe PBRX has bright prospects for the future. Table 1: Performance Summary

Growth target is hard to be met Indonesia reported slower economic growth of 4.7% YoY in the first quarter of 2015, which is the lowest record since 2009 financial crisis. Therefore, Indonesia is seen as more vulnerable to external-account destabilization compared to its regional peers including India and the Philipines. The Central Bank (BI) predicts the country’s growth to only 5.4% this year. With no signs of quick recovery in the global economy, the government is uncertain that the nation will achieve its economic growth target for 2016. The debt settlement in Greece, speculation of US interest rate and below expectation growth result in 1Q15 are factors that the government revise the growth target to 5.5%-6% from 5.8%-6.2%. Besides, we view current account deficit in the country remains concern, which
in turn, can aggravate IDR performance. The IDR exchange rate is projected to be in the range of IDR13,000 – IDR13,400 per USD in 2016.

Indonesia is a leading player in ASEAN Textile and garment industry is a big business with large export potential and have a strong influence in affecting the economic development of ASEAN countries. Textile and garment export in the region saw a significant increase from 2009 due to high demand from developed countries, further lead to more than 12% CAGR of turnover between 2009 to 2014. Indonesia has significant role in Southeast Asia, which has the biggest textile export valued USD14.4 bn in 2014 or 40% from total export in the region. It is then followed by Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philipines and Cambodia. Despite the slow
recovery of global economy, Indonesia textile and garment players has showed its resilient to book positive performance through export market, proved by PBRX and SRIL which booked 18% YoY and 11% YoY of revenue growth in 1Q15. Government support continues The Ministry of Industry is helping the textile and footwear industries to export more of the products by providing export incentives and import facilities. The government plans to ease requirements currently imposed on manufactures to procure raw materials and to access financing. In addition, the government will ramp up trade promotion efforts in the domestic market and set up free-trade agreements (FTAs) with the prime export markets of Indonesia’s garment and footwear industries.
The government also supports the textile industry by providing 10% subsidy of new machines purchased to renew the machinery in this sector. This year, the government allocates around IDR100 bn to continue the machinery rejuvenation for textile and textile products. The government is estimated to spend about IDR1.4 tn of subsidy to enhance export competitiveness.

Benefitted by low wages rate One of comparative advantage of textile and garment in Indonesia compared to other countries is its relatively low wages rate. The nation is also benefitted by huge
productive population. The monthly wages rate in Indonesia is considered the lowest in Southeast Asia which ranges USD98.8 - USD201.1 in 2014, while in Malaysia the labor can earn USD239.7 – USD308.4, China is ranging from USD165.4 – USD265.3. We like the Company approach to expand its plant in Boyolali, which offers lower wages rate compared to Tangerang. The current wages rate in Boyolali is about IDR1.2 mn (USD92.3), while in Tangerang is IDR2.7 mn (USD207.7).

Eyeing robust growth through aggressive expansion PBRX is on the progress to build seven new plant in Central Java by making joint venture with Mitsubishi. The new company, PT Eco Smart Garment Indonesia (ESGI),
is owned by PBRX by 85% and the remaining is by Mitsubishi. Four of seven new plant has been built and is expected to come on line this year. While the other two plants will be built this year and start producing next year, and the rest will be built next year. Total investment is estimated around USD65 mn. We expect the expansion could impact the Company’s revenue by 20%-25% per year. PBRX has current production capacity of 75 mn pieces/year, significantly increased from 24 mn pieces/year in 2010. Meanwhile, the Company is also planning to enter Vietnam this year, as the country has competitive wages rate and bilateral agreement with Europe and US, which in turn, lead to lower tax compared if export from Indonesia. The Company has prepared USD5 mn for joint venture (JV) in Vietnam. We view PBRX’s step is to take advantage
of declining production in China, which further the buyer bestow the order to other countries.

Several new subsidiaries to be stronger
We view that PBRX’s approach is on track to be an integrated apparel company. With total 10 subsidiaries (as of December 2014), the Company has served from the upstream until downstream. Several new subsidiaries has been built in 2014 including Cosmic Gear Ltd based in Hongkong, PT Prima Sejati Sejahtera (PSS), PT Teodore Pan Garmindo (TPG) and PT Victory Pan Multitex (VPM). Besides, the Company plans to do joint venture in upstream textile manufacturing and in more garment manufacturing doing different product range as anorganic action. With wide product diversification,
we believe PBRX has stronger market and bargaining power as well.
